Another excellant enigmatic entry, no doubt. I typed in the url into my actual internet browser and didn't find anything though, besides for COD:WAW related links.
Edit: Thanks for the tip. Btw I jumped out of my skin
Took me two hours to figure it out, it was interesting!

GimmeSumJava responds:

Here is a hint you need to unscramble the code. Try googling a caeser cipher.

Thank you for playing.

The music kind of reminds me of the music from Kirby's Airride.

ZabuJard responds:

Great game

Quite interesting, but I didn't really know how to use the tools I had found

TheJollyElfGames responds:

Hold down the cancal/pause button (default is 0 on the number pad) then press whichever arrow key.

"Well endowed hero"

.... So.... that wasn't my sword?

blombluss responds:

Oh Gawd! :D I'll leave it as 'ambiguous'! :)

I am an honest person and I came here because Lucifer looks attractive. I will not claim to understand the game (Lucifer said it was a good game) but I am enthralled by the setup, music and character design already, and that your ultimate game is story driven is even more appealing.

DragonEmperors responds:

We're glad that someone like how Lucifer looks, thank you!
And thank you for playing! Hopefully you'll see the full version of this game later.

Let me be honest- Ive been an internet denizen for decades, since the 2000s and played flash games, but the Madness series just always seemed too intense for me to genuinely get into, and I wouldn't know where to even start. But I decided to give your game a try and I love it, with it nuance and emotion and ethical dilemmas. Will you be providing badges at some point?

vhsdreamland responds:

I really really want to include medals!! I actually set some up originally, I had images and captions all ready. turns out there isn't currently a way to set up the code for it in renpy, which sucks. if I end up making another game I think I'll try out flash so I can properly add them in. Thank you so much for your support!!

I came back to say I LOVE THIS GAME! The strategy, the paths, the insanity of it all, the compelling cast and setting. And the goofy music somehow works! Love the hipster love interest. Herschell Cook, I love your text adventure games so much, please never stop.

HershallCook responds:

Thanks! No plans to stop anytime soon!

Cute, and with potential, but I was disappointed in the lack of creativity in freeplay mode.

leftshoe18 responds:

Thanks for playing! We're looking for feedback to improve the full game. What would you like to see added to Free Play?

This was very beautiful and also made me relate strongly since I'm actually a social worker (whose experienced mental health stuff of my own, and have seen a counselor for it) and its also literally always been my dream to interview supernatural beings. But this ghost sounds a lot like someone whose been through some worrying, troubling things that I can earnestly hear happening in real life. It almost makes me wonder if this game was inspired by someone the creator know personally or if this was in fact their own lived experiances (though, I'm merely speculating and fully respect the creator's creative process and the relative privacy they hold in regards to where inspiration came from, as I understand as they outlined in the description, its very sensitive and intimate for them).

This game reads like a beautifully raw and empathetic dialogue based off of a conversation that would actually take place with someone whose been through some shit. I can't fully comment on the therapist/psychiatrist, because there are some things I'd have done or said differently, like letting the ghost know that they're in a safe space for whenever it started to relive trauma/abuse, but even their end of the dialogue sounds realistic through thoughtful questions and comments I'd hear a counselor bring up.

The ghost and the interface are gorgeous, as morose as the context and appearance of the situation and the ghost may actually be. I just realized while typing right now that with the story and visuals it's like if Majora's Mask was given a gritty reboot in a single small "game", and even fits with the themes of reincarnation/ rebirth/ coming to terms with mortality and the theme of experiencing hardship and depression in life.

It really IS a visual novel. Even though others may not have found it as palatable or may have felt off about it (evidenced by the disclaimer at the beginning, unless that was just the creator safeguarding themselves in case of anyone who felt the need to be overly critical), I felt like getting to interact with this work in this interactive fiction format was the best possible way it could have been done, and Im deeply appreciative of the creator's work and the emotional process it must have been to get this all out here.
I especially adored and appreciated the relationship and feelings expressed between the therapist and ghost near the end when the feels got real for the therapist.
Also, the scissor snipping sound effect was addictive, and reminded me of Edward Scissorhands.

Edit: I broke my original review up into paragraphs.

MoeAnguish responds:

Thank you so much for the kind words, i really appreciate it!
Also, this VN isn't really about my traumas, it's really a mystery that i'd prefer not to help solve and let people interpret it as they please, i feel it's better that way.

And glad you enjoyed the scissor sounds, although i gotta say - and prepare for this one - it's actually a lighter lol.

Again, thank you very much!

I already love it, but it froze before I could even play level one!

cre8tiveMediaVault responds:

Hey! Sorry about that, I didn`t know if was freezing here, but I`ve just updated the latest version of the demo for you to play. The 2D side-scroller levels seems to freeze on WebGL builds for some reason, so I`ve only posted the omni-directional shooter version of the game here, but you can download and play the full versions of the (WIP) with both play modes for Mac or PC here!

I LOVE Newgrounds, and the creators here. I would die without these games and creations.
